One starting block for Olympus Marathon

The organizing committee has decided that there will be one starting block this year.

Some information from the race secretariat
Olympus Marathon

The Olympus Marathon secretariat will be open on Thursday 27/6 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Friday 28/6 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. The secretariat will be in the Municipal Park of Litochoro, and this is where you will receive your race pack.

Your race pack includes the following:

  • Bib number
  • T-shirt
  • Commemorative buff
  • Baggage tag
  • Bag Drop tag
  • Departure time for Dion tag

Poles:

Runners who wish to use hiking poles will collect them from aid station Koromilia (KM-10), where they will be transported by the organizers. If you wish to use poles, you must hand them over to the secretariat when collecting their race pack. A sticker will be attached to the poles, showing you bib number. During the descent, the only place where you can leave your poles is at Aid Station Pronia (KM-31). Otherwise, you must keep them until the finish line. The use of poles is prohibited for security reasons in the first section of the race, due to heavy foot traffic (Start to Koromilia – KM-10). Runners may only use poles after the Koromilia aid station. Using poles in the first section will lead to disqualification from the race.

Shortcuts:

Taking shortcuts is prohibited and punished by disqualification from the race. Each runner is personally responsible for abiding by the warning signs posted at specific parts of the route, which indicate prohibited shortcuts. The use of alternative curves in the footpath in the alpine section of the race, where it is clear that these have been carved out by usage, is permitted.

Bag Drop
If you wish to have any personal items waiting for you at aid station number 9, "Prionia" (km 31.2), please attach the Bag Drop tag to your bag. You will be told where to leave the bag at the starting area in Dion in the morning. Drop bags that are not picked up in Prionia during the race, will be returned to Litochoro after the aid station closes.

Baggage
If you wish to have any personal items waiting for you at the finish line in Litochoro, please attach the Baggage tag to your bag. You will be told where to leave the bag at the starting area in Dion in the morning.

Departure for Dion
You will need this tag to board the race bus, which will be parked in front of the Municipal Park of Litochoro and will depart for the race start line in Dion. Please make sure you are at the bus by the departure time marked on your tag. For runners staying outside Litochoro, on the coast: please tell the secretariat where you are staying and the bus departing from Litochoro at 4:10 a.m. will pick you up. There will be buses departing from 4:00 a.m. through to 5:20 a.m.

Race bracelet

When collecting your race pack from the secretariat, you will also be given your race bracelet, which you will use at the pasta party and for your free post-race meal.

There will be a pasta party for runners in the Municipal Park of Litochoro on Friday, 28/6, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

There will be a post-race meal for runners on Saturday 29/6, in the Municipal Park of Litochoro, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
