Less than 3 weeks remain for the 10^th annual Olympus marathon that will be held on June 30^th 2013. This alpine marathon has been warmly embraced by the runners and friends of Mt. Olympus, home of the Gods.

The support provided by the volunteers is essential in the smooth running of the event. Much has been planned and last minute details are being attended to so that everyone will be ready to offer their help to the participants of the 10^th OM.

Specifically, the Katerini department of the Greek Red Cross, “The Good Samaritan” Rescue and Life Guard division will, for another year, undertake the first aid and rescue tasks. The Pieria Amatuer Radio Association will be covering the race on the airwaves. Dr. Thanos Spiliotopoulos and Dr. Michalis Katsamakas with their medical team, made up of 5 colleagues, will provide medical assistance at Muses’ Range, Prionia, Kastana and the finish line. The Alpine Association of Dion, Karitsa and Litochoro, apart from cleaning the mountain paths are getting ready to greet and help the athletes at Orlia station(Karitsa), while at Dion, the residents will be at stations Xerolaki and St. Constantinos. The members of the Thessaloniki Alpine Association will greet the athletes at Petrostrouga station. Those in charge of the Christos Kakalos and Spilios Agapitos refuges, along with the help of the volunteers will also greet the athletes as a few days before the race they will have assured the athletes safe crossings from difficult points on the course. There will also be athletes from previous OMs at different stations on the course thus contributing in their own special way to this year’s OM. Over 300 volunteers, in total, will show their support and provide their services to this year’s OM.

This year’s OM is being sponsored by BUFF, ΔΕΟΔΟ, Power bar-Dimitriadis (energy gels and shots), Novonordisk pharmacutical company, Solo Energy (a Greek organic energy bar), Era Energy, Zaphiraki farms, the gourmet restaurant “Gastronomio en Olympou”, Traditional Katerini Bardaki and the Greek company Proto S.A. with their seasonal fruit Protofanousis. Ostracon company will be responsible for the medical insurance of the runners while Natura Pharm will donate foot products Gehwol to all the participants. Lastly, this year’s race is also sponsored by the legal company ARAG, the Pieria Commerce Associatioin, Pierias Bank and the district of Pieria.

For yet another year Go Experience will be in charge of photographing the entire event, while Stamos Birsim of Olyvon, in collaboration with Go Experience, will videotape the 10^th annual Olympus Marathon. Footage will be available on the internet at the end of the event

II ne reste que trois semaines pour que le 10ème anniversaire d’Olympus Marathon reçoive, le 30 Juin, les participants et les amis de la course en montagne à Olympus, la montagne des Dieux.

Le support offert par les équipes volontaires est essentiel pour le bon déroulement de l’organisation. On a déjà fait les plans et on est en train d’examiner les derniers détails pour être prêts de rendre ses services aux participants du 10ème anniversaire d’Olympus Marathon. Plus précisément, les "Samaritains", les "Sauveteurs" et les "Nageurs-Sauveteurs" de la Croix Rouge Grecque venus de Katerini se chargeront, même cette année, de la mission difficile du secours et du sauvetage des participants. En plus, l’Association d'Amateurs de Radio de Pieria sera responsable des communications de l'organisation.Les médecins Spiliotopoulos Thanos et Katsamakas Michalis avec leurs cinq collègues seront responsables du soin médical des athlètes au plateau de Muses, à Prionia, à Kastana et au terminal. Ce moment, ils s’occupent du rassemblement du matériel médical. Les membres de EOS de Litochoro, de Vrontou et de Karitsa, sauf le soin du nettoyage des sentiers de la course, sont prêts d’accueillir et de rendre service aux athlètes à la station d’Orlia ( EOS Karitsas ) tandis que les habitants volontaires de Dion aux stations de Xirolaki et de Agiou Konstantinou. Les membres de SDY de Thessalonique recevront les athlètes à la station de Petrostrougas. Les responsables des refuges « Spilios Agapitos» et « Christos Kakalos», avec l’aide des volontaires vont accueillir, à leur tour, les coureurs du parcours, étant donné qu’ils auront assuré, les jours précédents, leur passage en sécurité des endroits dangereux de l’itinéraire. Aux stations sur le long de l’itinéraire, des athlètes, qui ont participé aux parcours précédents d’Olympus Marathon, seront présents d’une manière différent. En somme, 300 volontaires en groupe ou séparément vont soutenir la réalisation de la course.

Le 10ème Olympus Marathon cette année est organisé aussi sous l'égide de "DEADO" (Entreprise Municipale de Développement Diou Olympou ). D'autres supporteurs du Marathon serontles: "Buff®", "Power Bar-Dimitriadis ( gels d’énergie et shots", la compagnie pharmaceutique Novonordisk, "Solo Energy"( Power Bar d’origine grecque),"Era Energy",la domaine Zafeirakis, le restaurant "Gastrodromio en Olympo", "Paradosiaki Katerinis" de Bardaki et la compagnie grecque "Proto S.A" avec ses fruits de saison Protofanousis.

La compagnie Ostracon donnera ses soins après la cure, aux coureurs et la compagnie Natura Pharm. offrira à tous les participants une série des produits de cure de pieds Gehwol. L’organisation est aussi soutenue par la compagnie de protection juridique ARAG, l’Intendance de Pieria, la Banque de Société Pierias et le Gouvernement Provincial de Pieria.

La société Go Experience sera engagée, même cette année, des photos de l’ organisation tandis que M.Stamos Mpirsim d’Olyvon en collaboration avec la société Go Experience va immortaliser en video les moments de 10ème anniversaire de l’organisation.Tout le matériel,photos et video, sera disponible sur l’internet après la fin de l’ organisation.

Πιο συγκεκριμένα ο Τομέας Σαμαρειτών, Διασωστών καιΝαυαγοσωστών του Ελληνικού Ερυθρού Σταυρού του παραρτήματος Κατερίνης θα αναλάβει για μια ακόμη χρονιά το δύσκολο έργο της παροχής πρώτων βοηθειών και της διάσωσης, ενώ ο Σύλλογος Ραδιοερασιτεχνών Πιερίας τις επικοινωνίες του αγώνα. Οι γιατροί Θάνος Σπηλιωτόπουλος και Μιχάλης Κατσαμάκας έχουν έτοιμη ομάδα 5 συναδέλφων τους και θα παράσχουν ιατρική κάλυψη στο Οροπέδιο των Μουσών, στα Πριόνια, στην Καστάνα και στον τερματισμό.Αυτή τη στιγμή μεριμνούν γιατη συγκέντρωση ιατρικού υλικού.Οι ΕΟΣ Δίου, Καρίτσας, Λιτοχώρου και Λεπτοκαριάς εκτός από το έργο του καθαρισμού των μονοπατιών είναι έτοιμοι να υποδεχτούν και να εξυπηρετήσουν τους αθλητές σε σταθμούς (EOΣ Καρίτσας στον Ορλιά, ΕΟΣ Λεπτοκαριάς στην Κορομηλιά), ενώ η Ένωση Εθελοντών Πυροσβεστών Δίου θα στελεχώσει, όπως πραγματοποιεί ανελλιπώς τα τελευταία χρόνια, τους σταθμούς Ξηρολάκι και Αγ. Κωνσταντίνο. ΟΣΔΥ Θεσσαλονίκης θα υποδεχτεί τους αθλητές στο Σταθμό της Πετρόστρουγκας.Οι υπεύθυνοι των καταφυγίων Χρήστος Κάκαλος και ΣπήλιοςΑγαπητός με τη συνδρομή εθελοντών θα υποδεχτούν με τη σειρά τους τους δρομείς του αγώνα, αφού τις προηγούμενες ημέρες θα έχουν εξασφαλίσει το ασφαλές πέρασμά τους από τα δύσκολα σημεία της διαδρομής.Σε σταθμούς σε όλο το μήκος της διαδρομής θα βρεθούν και αθλητές που έχουν τρέξει το ΟΜ προηγούμενες χρονιές και θέλησαν να λάβουν μέρος στον ΟΜ με ένα διαφορετικό τρόπο. Συνολικά πάνω από 300 εθελοντές σε οργανωμένες εθελοντικές ομάδες ή ως μεμονωμένα άτομα θα υποστηρίξουν την διοργάνωση του ΟΜ.

Στην φετινή γιορτή του ΟΜ αρωογή στέκονται οι εταιρίες Buff$ ®, η ΔΕΑΔΟ, η Power bar – Δημητριάδης (ενεργειακά gel & Shots ), η φαρμακευτική εταιρία Novonordisk, η Solo Energy (βιολογική μπάρα Ελληνικής «καταγωγής»), η Era Energy, το κτήμα Ζαφειράκη, το Γαστροδρόμιο Εν Ολύμπω και η Παραδοσιακή Κατερίνης Μπαρδάκη, καθώς και τα γευστικά φρούτα Protofanousi. Η εταιρία Ostracon θα αναλάβει την αποθεραπεία των δρομέων, ενώ η εταιρία Natura Pharm θα προσφέρει σε όλους τους συμμετέχοντες σετ προϊόντων περιποίησης ποδιών Gehwol.Τέλος, τον φετινό αγώνα υποστηρίζουν η εταιρία νομικής προστασίας ARAG, το Επιμελητήριο Πιερίας, η Συνεταιριστική τράπεζα Πιερίας και η Περιφερειακή ενότητα Πιερίας.

Την φωτογράφιση της διοργάνωσης θα αναλάβει για μια ακόμη χρονιά η Go Experience, ενώ ο Στάμος Μπιρσίμ της Olyvon σε συνεργασία με την Go - Experience θα απαθανατίσουν σε βίντεο στιγμές της 10^ηςεπετειακής διοργάνωσης, οι οποίες θα είναι διαθέσιμες στο διαδίκτυο μετά το τέλος της διοργάνωσης.

One month remains for the start of the 10th anniversary Olympus Marathon. Preparations for hosting more than 600 athletes that will take part in the race are hectic. The 500 available spaces for the Greek participants have been exceeded, while the applications of foreign athletes have reached the number of 125. All the Greek mountain running elite will be present at the anniversary event, while 9 athletes (8 men and one woman) that have successfully completed all nine previous events will stand at the start line of the 10 year's OM. Among foreign participants OM 2013 hosts the record holder of Olympus Marathon Hernadez Gispert Jessed.

The turnout of friends of mountain running in the Olympus mountain region is expected to be great. Among the foreign participants from 18 countries that will stand at this year’s start line noteworthy is the presence of more than 50 athletes from Romania that honor Olympus Mountain for the third consecutive year. Settlements availabilities are already short at the heart of events, while the vast majority of foreign athletes have combined participation in the event with their holidays. The presence of mountain running friends and participants of OM 2013 who make their workouts in the paths of the National Park of Olympus is daily, especially during weekends.

The Mountaineering Clubs of Karitsa and Litohoro, once again volunteering work in the race field, taking care of the race paths, while the necessary field preparations at the peaks of Mount Olympus will be done from the "Spilios Agapitos refuge" and "Christos Kakalos refuge” managers, Dionisios Pourliotis and Stylas Michael and their teams.

The 10th Olympus Marathon is included in 2013 top 20 SkyMarathons ® worldwide, in accordance with the ISF (International Skyrunning Federation), actively participates in the International Trail running Association work teams and celebrates its 10 years together with the 100th anniversary of the first ascent to the top of Mount Olympus, the Mytikas summit.

Ένας μήνας σχεδόν έχει απομείνει για την εκκίνηση του 10ου επετειακού Olympus Marathon στις 30 Ιουνίου. H προετοιμασία υποδοχής των 600 και πλέον αθλητών που θα λάβουν φέτος μέρος στον αγώνα είναι πυρετώδης. Οι 500 θέσεις των Ελλήνων συμμετεχόντων έχουν υπερκαλυφθεί, ενώ στις 123 έχουν φτάσει οι αιτήσεις των ξένων αθλητών. Η αφρόκρεμα του Ελληνικού ορεινού τρεξίματος θα είναι παρούσα στην επετειακή διοργάνωση, ενώ στην 10^η φετινή εκκίνηση θα σταθούν και 9 αθλητές (8 άνδρες και μια γυναίκα) οι οποίοι έχουν τερματίσει και στις εννέα προηγούμενες διοργανώσεις. Μεταξύ των ξένων συμμετεχόντων στην εκκίνηση φέτος θα σταθεί και ο κάτοχος του ρεκόρ διαδρομής του Olympus Marathon Jessed Hernadez Gispert.

Η προσέλευση των φίλων του ορεινού τρεξίματος στο Λιτόχωρο, το Δίον και την ευρύτερη περιοχή αναμένεται μεγάλη, ενώ αξιοσημείωτη είναι η παρουσία 50 και πλέον αθλητών από την Ρουμανία ανάμεσα στους ξένους συμμετέχοντες από 18 χώρες που θα λάβουν φέτος στον αγώνα φέτος. Ήδη οι διαθεσιμότητες δωματίων στο επίκεντρο των εκδηλώσεων είναι ελάχιστες, ενώ η συντριπτική πλειοψηφία των ξένων αθλητών έχει συνδυάσει τη συμμετοχή στον αγώνα με τις διακοπές τους, παραμένοντας στην περιοχή για περισσότερο και από μια εβδομάδα σε πολλές περιπτώσεις. Καθημερινή είναι όμως η προσέλευση στα μονοπάτια του Εθνικού Δρυμού του Ολύμπου, ιδίως τα Σαββατοκύριακα, από φίλους του ορεινού τρεξίματος και συμμετέχοντες στον 10^ο ΟΜ οι οποίοι πραγματοποιούν τις προπονήσεις τους ενόψει του αγώνα.

Τον καθαρισμό των μονοπατιών του αγώνα θα αναλάβουν και φέτος μέλη των Ορειβατικών Συλλόγων Βροντούς, Δίου, Καρίτσας και Λιτοχώρου, ενώ τις εργασίες καθαρισμού από χιόνια στις κορφές του Ολύμπου θα επιμεληθούν οι υπεύθυνοι των καταφυγίων «Σπήλιος Αγαπητός» Πουρλιώτης Διονύσης και «Χρήστος Κάκαλος» Στύλας Μιχάλης με τις ομάδες τους. Το αναλυτικό πρόγραμμα της διοργάνωσης θα ανακοινωθεί σύντομα, ενώ οι κανονισμοί του αγώνα βρίσκονται δημοσιευμένοι στην ιστοσελίδα της διοργάνωσης.

O 10^ος Olympus Marathon, συγκαταλέγεται φέτος στις 20 κορυφαίες διοργανώσεις SkyMarathon ® παγκοσμίως, σύμφωνα με την ISF ( International Skyrunning Federation ), συμμετέχει ενεργά στην International Trail running Association και εορτάζει, μαζί με τα 10 χρόνια υλοποίησής του, τα 100 χρόνια από την πρώτη ανάβαση στην κορυφή του Ολύμπου, τον Μύτικα. Η οργανωτική επιτροπή του ΟΜ 2013 καλεί όλους τους φίλους του Olympus Marathon, τους φίλους του ορεινού τρεξίματος και τους φίλους του αθλητισμού γενικότερα να παραβρεθούν στις εκδηλώσεις του επετειακού 10^ου Olympus Marathon .

Ολοκληρώθηκαν οι εγγραφές που αφορά τα παιδιά των αθλητών, εκτός Λιτοχώρου, για τους παιδικούς αγώνες Olympus Kids & Olympus Junior.

Θα υπάρχει δυνατότητα για έξτρα εγγραφές στον χώρο του registration .
